About Happy Island Dog Training
Happy Island Dog Training is owned and operated by renowned trainer John Van Olden. He is responsible for the creation of Canine Trade Group and the rigorous certification process that all trainers in the network are required to complete.
John has dedicated nearly three decades of his life to the study of canine behavior, first as a military policeman and later as the president of the country’s first dog training franchise. It only makes sense that he accepts nothing but the best from his trainers—and from himself.
What can you expect when you call Happy Island Dog Training in Aruba?
One of our trainers will speak with you about your dog and the concerns you have about his or her behavior. The trainer will discuss your goals, and at that point you can set up a no-obligation consultation.
The no-obligation consultation takes place in your home, allowing the trainer to see your dog in his or her element. The trainer will get to see your household dynamic, the dog’s behavior and body language, and get a better understanding of where your dog’s undesirable behavior stems from.
Your trainer will put their knowledge of canine behavior, psychology, and training methodology to work for you. They’ll write up a training regimen best suited to your dog’s individual needs, your household, and your schedule. If you like what you hear, you can schedule your first training session.
In short, when you call Happy Island Dog Training, you are taking the first step to kicking your dog’s bad behavior to the curb.
Our Philosophy
At Happy Island Dog Training, we believe that owner involvement is key to training success. We believe that no dog is beyond help. We believe that a good trainer is one who takes each dog’s individual needs into account when creating a training regimen.
Unsuccessful dog training occurs for a few reasons. When the trainer is the only one training, sometimes at the owner’s request, the dog learns to listen only when the trainer is present. In order for the behavior to remain consistent, the training needs to remain consistent. How do we achieve this? Owner involvement.
The trainers at Happy Island Dog Training are happy to divulge trade secrets because we want the training to stick and families to stay together. In fact, since our programs are commitment-based, that means we are dedicated to your pup’s success for one flat fee, until the training goals are reached. It’s in our best interest to get your dog trained right and fast.
Training can also be ineffective if the trainer is only versed in one training method. Not every dog is going to respond to every type of training. A good trainer, like the ones at Happy Island Dog Training, is versatile. A good trainer knows how to adjust their thought process and training methods to suit each dog, rather than expecting the dog to adjust how they learn.
